budapest

two sides of a dual unity
complacent & indifferent
to the other side
janus like one face
two conflicting sides
of a bipolar unity
divided by the stream of life
ever changing shades
of light and darkness
buda pest
the river flows
uniting and dividing
a city torn apart
by a painful past
yearning for reunion & reconciliation

the rich and the poor
sitting on their respective banks
of the stream of life
that flows and flows
and never is the same
the mass of water
reflecting both the darkness
of a cold night
and the warmth of bright sunlight

Pest

asking herself why she ended up at the wrong side why the river
has overflowed her live with tears

Buda
boasting about his luck at the upper side of live
never worrying about the cruelty of the river that gives and takes
but never to the same side the river flows and changes
never the same water carrying past present and the future
unaware of her destiny her recurrent end in the merciless sea
